Grief is an inevitable part of the human experience. It can be a challenging journey to navigate alone. During different stages of the grieving process, no matter the nature of loss, we are faced with challenges including difficult emotions, physical and emotional fatigue, search for meaning, sense of disconnection, and often lack of support and understanding from others (or just not enough support).

Grief puts us on a journey of processing, meaning finding, retreating into our inner world and desiring to connect with community, all at once, while also managing difficult and complex emotions. You may find yourself at times wanting to be fully seen and heard, participate in supportive communities, while at other times you may desire to do some of this work on your own, at your pace and time.

This course is created to give you the space and time to navigate your grief journey on your own. It can be supportive all on its own, or you may decide to also join one of our supportive grief groups - grief circles. It’s all up to you. The course

This transformative course will help you navigate grief, loss and change with mindfulness and compassion.

You will:

  • understand how to support yourself throughout the day and while practicing mindfulness

  • process and ease working with difficult emotions that often show up in grief

  • learn how to be with grief

  • find sustainable and realistic ways to bring joy into your life again

The how

You will be guided throughout this process and find ways to embrace and befriend yourself, exactly as you are. You'll also learn how to turn towards grief and suffering with kind awareness and develop the necessary tools to be present with your grief.

Throughout the course, Yasemin Isler, a certified end-of-life doula and grief guide, integrative thanatologist, seasoned and certified mindfulness and compassion teacher, scholar and mentor, will help you embrace and be with your grief.

MEET YOUR GRIEF GUIDE:

Yasemin Isler, is a grief, resilience, mindfulness and compassion expert. scholar, educator and guide, certified end-of-life doula, and full time core faculty in Mindfulness Studies Master’s Degree program at Lesley University.

She has been teaching and guiding grieving individuals, families and communities since 2014.

Yasemin created the Mindfulness, Compassion and Community for Grief and Loss framework and program which guides her work for navigating, healing and transforming grief.

Yasemin Isler has been teaching, creating and leading programs at the intersection of grief and contemplative studies and practices, accompanying the grief journeys of many. She brought together portions of her Mindfulness and Compassion for Grief program into digestible and easily accessible videos and audios in this course, for you to learn at your own pace.
